하나님이 우리를 만들어 가신다.
하나님은 우리를 만들어 가시되 우리가 원하는 인생이 아니라 하나님이 원하시는 인생을 만들어 가신다.
하나님이 원하시는 인생은 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 우리를 죄에서 구속하시고 하나님이 원하시는 인생길을 가게 하시고 마침내 하나님 나라에서 영원히 하나님과 같이 살수 있는 영광스러운 인생이다.
이것이 우리를 위한 하나님의 뜻이요 궁극적인 목적이다.
이것이 아담을 만드신 이유요 사탄의 시험을 허락하신 이유다.
이것이 욥에게 사탄의 시험을 허락하신 이유이다.
욥은 하나님이 축복하셔서 동방의 가장 큰 부자였고 사랑하는 아내와 열 자식을 경건하게 양육하고 행복한 삶을 살고 잇었다.
더 나아가 그는 하나님이 인정하시는 의인이었다.
인간적으로 생각하면 욥이 그대로 살다가 죽었으면 좋았을 것 같다.
그런데 누구도 원치 않는 사탄의 시험을 하나님이 욥에게 허락하셔서 말로 다 할수 없는 고난을 겪게 되었다.
하루아침에 모든 재산이 도적맞고 불타버렸다.
하루아침에 열 자식이 다 죽었다.
하루아침에 건강하던 몸까지 병들고 만신창이가 되었다.
사랑하던 아내도 재 가운데 앉아서 질그릇 조각으로 몸을 긁고 있는 그를 보고
차라리 하나님을 욕하고 죽으라고 까지 했다.
그러나 욥은 여전히 하나님을 믿고 신뢰하므로 그 입으로 하나님을 원망하지 않았다.
그러나 하나님이 원하시는 것은 그 정도가 아니다.
하나님은 이 고난을 통해서 그를 더욱 하나님이 원하시는 사람으로 만들어 가셨다.
욥기서는 전부 42 장이다.
그 중에서 그가 갑자기 고난을 당하는 것이 1-2 장에 나오고 그의 고난이 회복되어 갑절의 축복을 받은 것이 마지막에 간단하게 나온다.
그 외의 모든 내용은 하나님이 그를 만들어 가시는 과정이다.
우리는 그가 받은 갑절의 축복에만 관심을 두지만 하나님은 그를 만들어 가시는데 더 관심을 두셨다.
우리가 하나님이 원하시는 사람으로 만들어지면 눈에 보이는 축복은 하루 아침에 주실수 있다.
하나님께서 욥을 만들어 가시는 내용을 생각해 보기 원한다.
1. 구속주 메시야를 믿게 하셨다.
25절 “내가 알기에는 나의 대속자가 살아 계시니 마침내 그가 땅 위에 서실 것이라.”
“내가 알기에는” 이란 말은 확실히 안다는 말을 강조한 히브리식 표현이다.
그는 고난을 통해서 자기에게 구속주가 필요한 것을 확실히 알았고
구속주가 살아계셔서 마침내 땅 위에 서실 것도 알게 되었다.
욥은 동방의 의인이었지만 그러나 그에게도 구속주가 필요했고 구속주를 통해서 주시는 하나님의 의가 필요했다.
욥이 고난을 당하기 전에 어떤 사람이었는지 욥기서는 이렇게 시작하고 있다.
1장 1절에 “우스 땅에 욥이라 불리우는 사람이 있었는데 그 사람은 온전하고 정직하여 하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠난 자더라” 하셨다.
하나님께서도 사탄에게 욥의 순전함을 자랑하실 정도였다.
또한 그에게 갑자기 닥친 고난 가운데서도 한 마디 말로도 범죄하지 않았다.
참 대단한 욥이다. 이보다 더 큰 의인이 어디 있겠는가?
그러나 욥이 아무리 순전하고 의롭다 할지라도 그의 의는 어디까지나 인간의 의였다.
하나님이 원하시는 의는 “인간의 의” 이상이다. 곧 “하나님 자신의 의”다.
인간의 의는 아무리 고상해 보여도 하나님의 의 앞에서 걸레와 같은 것이다.
아무리 욥이 경건하고 의로웠어도 그의 의는 하나님의 의 앞에서는 걸레와 같은 것이다.
이 놀라운 하나님의 의는 구속주 예수 그리스도를 통해서만 얻을수 있다.
욥은 고난 가운데서 자신의 의가 완전히 무너지면서 구속주가 필요한 것을 알게 되엇다.
욥은 구속주를 바라보며 믿게 되었다.
하나님은 욥을 고난을 통해서 대속주 예수 그리스도를 바라보고 믿게 하셨다.
욥의 인생에 이보다 더 큰 축복은 없다.
하나님은 욥을 진정한 의인으로 만들어 가셨다.
인간의 의로는 하나님 앞에 설 수가 없다.
오직 하나님의 의를 받은 자만이 하나님 앞에 설 수 있다.
인간의 그 어떤 의로도 하나님 앞에 설 수 없으나 그 어떤 죄인도 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로
구속함을 받고 의롭다 함을 받은 자는 하나님 앞에 설 수 있다.
구약 성도들도 오실 메시야를 바라보고 믿었다.
아브라함도 오실 대속주 메시야를 바라보고 믿었다.
예수님은 너희 조상 아브라함은 나의 때 볼 것을 즐거워하다가 보고 기뻐하였느니라 하셨다. (요 8:56)
구약의 모든 제사는 예수 그리스도의 대속의 모형으로서 오실 대속주 예수 그리스도를 바라보고 믿음으로 드리게 하신 것이다.
하나님은 오늘 우리도 예수 그리스도의 대속을 믿음으로 의롭다 함을 받게 하셨다.
욥처럼 하나님이 우리도 이렇게 만들어 오신 것이다.
얼마나 감사한가!
* 영원한 삶을 바라보았다.
26절 “내 가죽이 벗김을 당한 뒤에도 내가 육체 밖에서 하나님을 보리라.”
이제 욥의 눈은 이 세상 이 후에 있을 영원한 하나님의 나라를 바라보게 되었다.
자신이 죽은 후에도 그것으로 끝이 아니라 하나님 앞에 서게 될 것을 확신하게 되었다.
하나님은 욥을 영원을 바라볼수 있도록 만들어 가셨다.
인간은 땅에 것만 바라보고 살 시시한 존재가 아니다.
인간만이 머리를 향하게 지음 받은 것은 하나님을 바라보며 살도록 하신 것이다.
그런데도 구속함을 받지 못한자는 땅의 것 이상을 생각지 못하고 바라보지 못한다.
죄에서 구속함을 받고 의롭다 함을 얻은 자만이 영원을 바라보며 살게 된다.
이 세상 보다 영원한 하나님의 나라를 바라보며 사모하게 된다.
여러분들, 땅의 것만 바라보는가?
여러분들도 저 영원한 세계를 바라보는가? 아멘인가?
감사하라. 하나님이 우리를 이렇게 만드신 것이다.
2. 하나님이 원하시는 인생길을 걷게 하신다.
욥 23:10 “그러나 내가 가는 길을 그가 아시나니 그가 나를 단련하신 후에는 내가 순금같이 되어 나오리라”
욥은 자신이 가는 길을 하나님이 아신다고 했다.
이 말은 하나님이 우리를 위해서 정해 주신 길이 있고 자신이 그 길을 가고 있다는 말이다.
하나님이 다 아신다고 하신 것은 하나님이 원하시는 인생 길을 가고 있기 때문이다.
우리가 고난을 당했을 때 누구 때문에 고난이 온 것이 아니고, 내 자신이 부족하거나 실수를 해서 온것도 아니라 하나님이 계획하시고 인도하시며 하나님이 원하시는 인생 길의 한 코스라는 것을 확실히 알고 믿어야 한다.
그러면 더 이상 고난이 고난으로만 보이지 않고 하나님을 보게 된다.
또한 하나님이 원하시는 그 길로 인도하시는 목적도 알았다.
하나님이 자신을 단련하여 정금 같이 만드신다는 것을 알았다.
정금은 뜨거운 불에 녹이고 또 녹이고 해서 불순물이 제거되고 마침내 순금이 되어 나온다.
하나님은 욥을 그처럼 단련하셨다.
하나님은 욥을 정금같이 만들어 가신 것이다.
하나님은 우리도 정금같이 단련하시기 위해 때로는 뜨거운 불 같은 고난을 통과하게도 하신다.
너무 뜨거워서, 너무 고통스러워서 신음하고 아파할 수밖에 없는 고난의 도가니를 통해서
우리를 정금같이 만들어 가심을 기억하라.
우리가 자신을 돌이켜 보면 과거보다 불순물이 다소 많이 제거된 것 같지 않은가?하나님이 정하신 인생 길은 꽃 길만이 아니다. 가시밭길도 있다.
우리를 정금같이 단련하시는 길이다.
마침내 하나님 앞에서도 불순물이 하나도 보이지 않는 순금처럼 되게 하신다.
우리가 자신을 가만히 생각하고 과거를 돌이켜 보면 지금 불순물이 많이 제거 된 것 같지 않은가?
다 고난의 도가니 속에서 이 정도라도 만들어 주신 것이다.
나는 여러분이 얼마나 더 하나님이 원하시는 사람이 되어 왔는가를 안다.
여러분도 저를 그렇게 생각합니까? 하나님이 저를 많이 만들어 오셨다고 생각합니까?
욥을 정금같이 만드신 하나님께서 오늘 우리도 정금 같이 만들어 가고 있음을 믿어라.
하나님의 자녀는 자기 마음대로 인생 길을 걸어갈 수 없다.
하나님이 작정하신 인생 길을 걸어가야 한다.
내가 원하는 길로 결코 갈수 없다.
내가 원치 않으면 하나님이 고난을 통해서라도 그 길을 가게 하신다.
왜냐하면 하나님이 우리를 위해 작정하신 그 길이 최상의 길이요 가장 완전한 길이기 때문이다.
우리는 아직 그 과정 가운데 있다.
과정은 비록 힘들고 어려울지 모르지만 그 과정을 통과하면서 점점 하나님이 원하시는 사람이 되어 가면서 우리는 하나님의 좋으심을 더욱 알게 될 것이다.
사탄은 욥을 괴롭게 하고 하나님을 떠나게 하려고 고난을 주었다.
그러나 하나님은 그 고난을 통해서 욥을 하나님이 원하시는 인생으로 만들어 가셨다.
실은 그 고난도 하나님이 계획하신 대로 인도하신 것이었다.
3. 하나님은 욥을 더 영광스럽게 만들어 주셨다.
욥기 42:5 “내가 주께 대하여 귀로 듣기만 하였아오나 이제는 눈으로 주를 뵈옵나이다”
욥은 고난 이전과는 비교할수 없는 영광스러운 사람이 되었다.
그는 더 의로운 사람이 되었고 더 영적인 사람이 되었다.
* 하나님의 음성을 귀로 듣게 되었다.
욥기서의 많은 부분은 욥과 그의 세 친구들 사이에 대화다.
욥의 친구들은 욥의 곤경을 보고 욥을 정죄하고 책망하는 말을 했고 욥은 거기에 대한 변명을 했다.
친구들의 말이나 욥의 말은 다 옳은 말이었고 진리의 말이었다.
그런데 38 장에서부터 무려 3 장에 이르도록 하나님이 직접 나타나셔서 그 변론에 개입하시고 말씀하셨다.
욥은 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 자기 주장을 버렸다.
내가 스스로 거두어 드린다고 한 말은 자기의 했던 모든 말이 다 어리석은 말이므로 거두어 드리겠다는 것이다.
진짜 하나님의 말씀을 듣는 자는 자기 주장을 버린다.
* 하나님의 실존을 눈으로 뵙게 되었다.
욥은 하나님의 영광을 보게 된 것이다.
욥은 하나님의 영광을 보고서야 하나님을 하나님으로 알게 되었다.
동시에 자신이 얼마나 부족한 존재인 것을 알고 회개했다.
욥은 티끌과 재 가운데서 회개하나이다 라고 했다.
하나님의 거룩한 실존 앞에 설 때 욥과 같은 의인도 회개하지 아니할 수가 없었다.
하나님의 영광스러운 실존 앞에서 자신이 온전히 무너지는 것을 체험한 자는 달라진다.
바울사도가 다메섹 도상에서 예수님의 실존을 뵙고 사울이 바울로 변하게 되었다.
하나님은 욥을 이렇게 영광스럽게 만들어 가셨다.
* 하나님의 제사장으로 세워주셨다.
하나님은 욥의 세 친구들에게 진노하시면서 너희가 제물을 내 종 욥에게 로 가져가서 번제를 드리라고 했다.
이는 욥을 친구들을 위한 제사장으로 삼으신 것이다.
그 동안 욥을 정죄하고 판단하고 책망했던 친구들이 이제 욥에게로 가서 번제를 드리고
그 앞에서 욥의 기도를 받아야만 했다.
하나님은 욥을 높여주실 뿐 아니라 욥의 상한 마음도 치유해 주셨다.
욥이 하나님의 마음으로 세 친구들을 위하여 기도하면 하나님이 기쁘게 받으시겠다고 하셨다.
* 하나님의 성품을 닮은 사랑의 사람으로 만들어 가신다.
10절 “ 욥이 그의 친구들을 위하여 기도할 때 여호와께서 욥의 곤경을 돌이키시고 여호와께서 욥에게 이전 모든 소유보다 갑절이나 주시니라”
욥이 친구들을 위하여 기도할 때 욥의 곤경을 돌이켜 주셨다는 것은 놀라운 말씀이다.
오늘 우리의 곤경도 우리가 친구들을 위하여, 원수를 위하여 기도하고 축복할 때 돌이켜 주실 것이다.
그 뿐 아니라 하나님이 빼앗아 가신 것 보다 갑절의 축복을 주실 것이다.
하나님이 빼앗아 가시는 것은 하나님이 원하시는 사람을 만들기 위한 것이었다.
이제 하나님이 원하시는 사람을 만드시고 빼앗으신 것보다 더 많은 것으로 주셨다.
하나님이 남을 용서하고 축복하라고 하신 것은 우리가 하나님의 성품을 닮기를 위해서다.
그러므로 용서하고 축복하고 중보하는 모든 것은 사실 자신을 위한 것이다.
욥을 만들어 가신 하나님이 오늘 우리도 만들어 가고 계심을 믿어라.
하나님은 우리를 자신이 원하시는 사람으로 만들어 가신다.
우리는 아직 그 과정 가운데 있지만 하나님이 만드시는 영광스러운 사람이 되는 것을 내다보며 가야 한다.
하나님이 우리를 만들어 가신다.
Title: The LORD is Refining Our Hearts
Scripture: Job 19:25-27
“ ‘As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth. ‘Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh I shall see God; Whom I myself shall behold, And whom my eyes will see and not another. My heart faints within me!’ “ (New American Standard Bible)
The Lord is refining our hearts for His magnificent plan!
In this modern fast-paced competitive culture we are living in, most of us run the daily race to beat the clock to get as much done as possible to get ahead. As we are running the race, it’s easy to lose the sight of the big picture. However, we have to remember that the LORD’s plan may be different from ours. The LORD’s will is to redeem us from our sins through Jesus Christ so He can shape us to live with Him forever in the heaven. The LORD is shaping us to fit that plan. That was the purpose of making the first man Adam. That’s the purpose of God allowing temptations and trials of Satan coming into our lives as with Adam and Job.
God blessed Job. He was the wealthiest and the greatest man in the East. He was happily married with seven sons and three daughters. He was righteous even to the sight of the LORD. However, Satan is allowed to test Job. In a less than a day, all of his ten children have been killed and all his possessions have been taken away from him. Job moaned and fell to the ground to worship the Lord. Despite his unshakable faith, the Satan covered Job’s body with sores and Job had to scratch himself with a piece of broken pottery sitting in the dust and ashes. Job still didn’t sin against God by complaining or blaming on anyone. Even his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die!” (Job 2:9) Job was still unshakable in his faith in God. Most of us may think that Job had passed the test at this point and Job should have been restored to all things he lost. However, God had something much bigger in His plan for Job. Our God of goodness wanted to shape Job to fit His plan.
There are 42 chapters in the book of Job. The first two chapters talk about how Job losses everything and the last part of the book talks about the blessing he received after the trial. The majority of the book talks about how the LORD shaped Job before he meets the LORD. We tend to focus on Job’s blessing being doubled after the trial. However, God’s plan was to reshape Job according to His plan. Once Job’s heart was refined and shaped according to God’s plan, the external blessing was given to Job instantly.
I want to talk about the path Job walked before he got to meet the LORD.
1. The LORD made Job believe the redeemer Messiah
“ ‘As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.’ ” (Job 19:25)
“…I know…” is written as “Ani yadati,” in Hebrew Bible which means “I know for sure.” Through the tribulation, Job learned to know that he desperately needed the redeemer Messiah, and He is the living God who will stand on this land. Job was a righteous man but he desperately needed the righteousness of the Redeemer-Messiah. Before the tribulation, Job was described as “…a man in the land of Uz…blameless, upright, fearing God and turning away from evil.” (Job 1:1) Even God bragged about Job to the Satan that there is no one who is more righteous than him. The Satan asked God a permission to test Job. Even after Satan struck all of Job’s children and his possessions, Job worshipped God and didn’t sin against God. Job didn’t sin against God even once by complaining or blaming on someone.
God praised and bragged about Job even more for maintaining his integrity and staying strong in his faith during the trial. The Satan asked a permission to strike Job’s body this time. God gave the Satan the permission.
“Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. And he took a potsherd to scrape himself while he was sitting among the ashes.” (Job 2:7-8)
Job still did not sin against God by complaining or blaming. How unbelievably righteous is Job! However, his righteousness is a righteousness of a human. God’s will is not a righteousness of a human but God’s righteousness being glorified through His children. The only way God’s righteousness can be glorified through us is by Jesus. Through the tribulations, Job learned to know that his righteousness is nothing to stand on during the trials. He desperately needed redeemer’s righteousness to stand on. He learned to rely only on the LORD, not on his righteousness.
Job got to meet the LORD and got to know the LORD for who He is. The LORD shaped Job into a truly righteous man. There is no such blessing that can be greater than this. We cannot stand in front of God as a righteous man with our own strength. We can only stand in front of God as a righteous man through the grace of God. Everyone including the evilest people is given the chance to stand in front of God as righteous only through the grace of God and the blood of Jesus Christ. Anyone who is redeemed by the LORD can stand in front of God as a righteous. The saints in Old Testament believed and waited for the Messiah to come.
Abraham believed and waited for the Messiah to come.
“ ‘Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.’ ”
(John 8:56)
All sacrifices of the Old Testament were given by a faith in the forms of Jesus the redeemer to come. Today, God made us righteous by our faith through Jesus. Like Job, the LORD is shaping us for His plan. How grateful are we!
*Look toward the eternal life!
Verse 26: “ ‘Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh I shall see God.’ ”
Through the tribulations and suffering, Job was able to look forward to the eternal life. His faith that he’ll stand in front of the LORD after his death has been strengthened. The LORD shaped Job to look forward to the eternal life.
We are not created to live our lives enamored of things of this world. Only humans are created to stand on two feet because we are created to look upward, the heaven. If we are not redeemed by Jesus, we cannot see beyond what our eyes allow us to see in this land. Only the ones who are redeemed for their sins and became righteous through the blood of Jesus Christ are able to look forward to the eternal life. Only then, we can live our lives accordingly with the high hope of eternal life. In the heaven, we can live filled with the presence of the LORD at all time like oxygen in our bodies. When we believe and know this for sure, we are enamored with the eternal life. Nothing of this world can ever be more appealing to us.
Are you looking toward the things of this world?
Are you looking toward the eternal life?
Amen?
Be grateful!
The LORD is refining and reshaping us to lead us to the eternal life.
2. The LORD led Job to the path of His plan
“ ‘But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.’ ”
(Job 23:10)
Job said that the LORD knows the path he walks. He knew that there is a path the LORD has planned for him and he knew that he was walking that path. Job said that the LORD knows all because he knew he was walking the path God had planned for him.
When we go through tribulations, we shouldn’t blame another person or ourselves. We have to know and trust the LORD that it’s the path God had planned for us. Then we can lift our focus from the tribulations and see the LORD. Job started to understand the purpose of the path he was on. He knew that God was strengthening and refining him like gold. A pure gold can only be obtained by removing the impurities through repeatedly melting at very high temperature. God strengthened Job that way. God was refining Job like gold.
God sometimes leads us to the path of pain and suffering to refine us like gold. We have to endure the scalding hot temperature of the furnace. We may moan and scream while we are in the furnace. However, remember that God is refining us like gold! Look back on your past! Don’t you think we are more refined now after walking through the tribulations of the past as we were holding on to our faith? The path that God had planned for us is not always a flower garden. Sometimes there are thorns that pierce our flesh and our hearts on the path God planned for us. It can be illnesses we have to endure. It can be our children who are making a choice that is seemingly the path of ruin. It can be the words of people around us that hurt us. It can be something about us that make our lives very challenging. Many times, it’s very difficult to understand and accept the purpose of the tribulations we are in. However, it’s the path God had planned for us to shape us to His will.
God is refining our hearts to lead us to His magnificent plan. Soon we’ll become pure like pure gold standing in front of the LORD. I can see how much God has reshaped you according to His plan. Do you think God has reshaped me according to His plan as well? Job believed that through the tribulations, God was refining him to shape him according to His plan. God’s children cannot live their lives against God’s plan. When we get off God’s plan, God leads us back to His plan through tribulations. God’s plan for us is the best and the perfect plan for each of us because God is our creator and He is good. We are in the middle of that path. The process may be challenging and even painful at times but we get to see and experience who God really is. As God is reshaping us according to His will, we get to know God in the deeper level. We get to know who God really is deep in our heart and soul. That is God’s will. God wants us to know Him.
The Satan stuck Job with all kinds of tribulations to make Job fall and make Job leave God for good. The Satan poked at Job from all sides looking for any weaknesses. However, God used even the Satan’s evil plan to reshape Job according to His plan. Even the evil master plan of Satan to make us fall can be used for God to reshape us according to His plan for us.
3. The LORD was glorified through Job’s life
“ ‘I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees You.’ ”
(Job 42:5)
After faithfully enduring the tribulations and suffering, God reshaped Job into a new person. God was glorified through Job and his life in much higher level than before. Job came to know who God really is and how good God really is. By knowing God in a deeper level, Job became more righteous.
*Job was able to hear God’s messages
The majority of the book of Job is about the conversations of Job and his friends. Job’s friends were convinced that Job was going through the wrath of God due to his sins or his children’s sins. Job’s friends were compassionate toward Job’s unfortunate situation at first but the conversation increasingly became a conflict among themselves. Job’s friends condemned Job and Job defended himself. Job’s friends’ words toward Job added more pain to already unbearably painful suffering of Job. On chapter 38, God finally speaks to Job and continued for next three chapters.
“ ‘Who is this that darkens counsel
By Words without knowledge?
‘Now gird up your loins like a man,
And I will ask you, and you instruct Me!’ ” (Job 38:2-3)
After seeing who God really is, he realized how little he knew. What he used to refer to as wisdom became just foolish meaningless words standing in front of God. He surrendered his will to the LORD. The ones who hear God’s messages surrender their own wills.
*Job got to see and meet the LORD
He was able to see the glory of God. After seeing God, he learned who God really is and how wrong his own righteousness is in front of God. He repented pouring out his heart and soul in the dust and ashes. Standing in front of the glory of God, even a righteous man like Job can’t help himself but repent pouring out his heart and soul. When we see and experience the glory of God, our own righteousness, and our stubbornness break into million pieces like dust and ashes. After that experience, we can no longer be the same person. The Apostle Paul saw Jesus' presence on the Damascus road and Saul became Paul. God reshaped Job in the same way with the glory of God.
*God made Job to be a priest
God was angry with Job's three friends and asked them to bring sacrifices to Job for burnt offerings. God made Job to be the priest for his friends. The friends who condemned, judged, and rebuked Job now have to go to Job to offer burnt offerings. They had to receive Job’s prayer. God exalted Job in front of his friends and healed his broken heart. God said that when Job pray for his three friends in the heart of God, God would receive it with joy.
*The LORD shapes our hearts to His loving hearts
“The LORD restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the LORD increased all that Job had twofold.” (Job 42:10)
Even during difficult times, when we pray for our friends and pray for our enemies, God blesses us and restore what we lost. Not only that but God can double the blessing that has been previously taken away. When God allows all things to be taken away from you, don’t be dismayed by the lost! God wants to shape you for His magnificent plan. Once God shapes you according to God’s plan, God gives you back what you lost and more. God told us to forgive and bless those who curse us because He wants to shape our character to resemble His character.
Therefore, forgiving and blessing those who curse us and praying for them is a blessing to us.
Believe that God who shaped Job is shaping us too!
God shape us according to His will for us.
We are still on that journey but let’s move forward toward the character God is shaping us to have to glorify Him.
The LORD is shaping us today!
